These voted for the resolution, Messrs.Keswick, Robertson, Medhurst, Humphreys, Osborne, Shewan and Lt.Col.

The Colonial Secretary, Major Taton and the chairman

did not vote.

Mr. Osborne asked what was meant by the words of British percentage. The Officer Administering the Government said that it meant that both parents must be of European ex- traction. Eurasions would not be covered by the resolution.

The Officer Administering the Government then thanked the members of the Committee for the time and attention they had devoted to the subject which had been under their considera- tion. As much had not been attained as some of them had hoped at the outset of their deliberations, but in the result some- thing useful had he thought been obtained.
